Sentencing For Boy In Gay Pride Assaults

Sentencing is set Wednesday for a 15-year-old boy who pleaded guilty to beating men at July's gay pride parade.
The boy's name has not been released because he is a juvenile.
Last month, three men were sentenced for their role in the incident, when six men were beaten as they left the parade at Balboa Park.
All three of those men were given jail time.

Three Men Hurt In Anti-Gay Attack

Three men were attacked Saturday night as they left the Gay Pride Festival in Balboa Park.
Officers say that the attack happened at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday in the Lawn Bowling area of Balboa Park. The three victims were walking home from the festival when it happened.
Two of the men were hit in the head with baseball bats and the other man was stabbed in the back.
The three victims were all hospitalized, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police are treating the incident as a hate crime.
No arrests have been made. The three suspects were last seen running down the Bridle Path into Balboa Park.

…in no particular order:
-Stephanie and I finally turned 21.
-Went to Vegas with seven incredible people and stayed at the Bellagio in May.
-Reached my five year anniversary with the Epicentre on October 11.
-Got a pretty big promotion at work.
-Doreen left.
-Became a communication major.
-Watched Sophia grow.
-Had lunch with Jim (again) more than anyone else this year.
-Went to Fleming’s countless times.
-Met a guy and fucked it up before we even got anywhere.
-Matt moved back in September!
-Enjoyed gay pride weekend with Katie the last week of July.
-Saw Transfer for the first time on August 13 and haven’t missed a show in San Diego since.
-Still remain a loyal viewer to my soaps.
-Discovered Nip/Tuck and Thirty Minute Meals with Rachel Ray.
-Got closer to my Grandparents.
-Saw Nine Inch Nails for the first time in November!
These are just some random highlights that came off the top of my head. Hopefully 2006 will be just as awesome.

Two wonderful things have come into my life all in less than a week… a live performance by Nine Inch Nails and Nip / Tuck. Let’s begin with the former.
Stephanie and I saw them on Sunday night at the Cox Arena. For those of you that didn’t hear, I had to forfeit my ticket to see them at the Hollywood Bowl because I got really sick the day of the show. I was completely bedridden and everyone had to go without me. Well I finally got to see them a few days ago and my god, were they amazing. Their set did not disappoint us at all. They played for what felt like ninety minutes and I have never seen a band play a set that long. They performed a lot of material from “With Teeth” but then they went off and did songs like “Closer” and “Hurt” and “Head Like a Hole.” Their stage presence was like no other band I’ve seen before. Their light show was amazing. The videos, audience, songs, sound, performance, and everything else in this spectacular set was outstanding. Unbelievable, if you will. I just can’t describe how fucking great they were.
As for Nip / Tuck, it’s better than Desperate Housewives, CSI, or ER. It’s almost a combination of all these with more vulgar language and some nudity. The premise: two wealthy best friends own a plastic surgery firm where we find out Sean has been cheating on his wife with a patient while Christian is shown to be a narcissistic asshole who has fathered Julia’s oldest son, Matt, who believes Sean is his real father. The acting is superb, the scenes are intense, and the plot twists are well thought out. Episode 10 was by far the best one yet that had me so engrossed, it was ridiculous. This show is barely in its third season and it better not end soon… it’s just too fucking good.
I know I’m a dork… a big one at that. But at the very least, I’m able to acknowledge it. Watch Nip / Tuck.

So my good old friend Alex was in town for a couple of days this week. We hung out two nights in a row which was pretty awesome because this week I started school and I was quite unhappy about it. After my Wednesday night class, he and his sister (Yoli) came and picked me up at my house then we met up with some of his friends in PB. We all had a good time and I didn’t get to bed until 2:00 am. Slept for four hours and I was up at 6:00 because I had to get myself to school. A cup of coffee, a banana, and three classes later… I felt like shit. Went over to my aunt’s house and hung out there before my next class. After class, I picked up Doreen and drove all the way up to Carlsbad to have sushi with Alex and Yoli at this place she likes to go to. It was some of the best sushi I’ve had. I’m a fan of the Dragon Rolls now.
Today, I’m just kinda chillin’. No real set plans yet. I’m feeling a bit under the weather probably due to lack of sleep, water consumption, and nutrition. Work keeps stacking itself on top of itself. Once I finish five tasks, I’ve got three more to begin that weren’t there initially. Oh well.. I’ll get it all done by Saturday.
And in other news… I cannot get this guy out of my mind. I see him on campus and just about collapse at the site of him. He’s really, really attractive and has very similar tastes as me (i.e. style, looks, social life). And another huge advantage to this guy is that he’s gay. He’s not straight for once! And single (according to his myspace). I was really into him last semester and I didn’t see him at all this summer but now that we’re back in school and I see him often, I’m hoping I’ll grow so fucking balls and actually speak to him. That’s harder said than done though. A lot harder. And it’s not like I lack confidence either… I should be able to talk to this guy but I’ve got nothing to say. Man… I’ve got three and a half months to make my move. Time’s ticking…
